Epoxy coatings have been an option to mask unsightly concrete for years. However, epoxy is a temporary fix. The durability of epoxy, especially in garages, is not up to the everyday rigors of modern life. Peeling from hot tires, fading from sunlight, discoloration from oil and chemical spills, chipping, yellowing, and cracking are problems that plague an epoxy floor.
Polyurea is coatings are different. Its chemical composition is much more durable, four times as much at minimum. Polyurea is heat resistant to over 250 degrees (F) indefinitely, and over 400 degrees (F) for a shorter period of time. It is chemical and oil resistant, allowing it to be mopped up quickly and easily. It is also antimicrobial, so if a leaking trash bag drips onto the floor or a pet has an accident, it will not host any bacteria.
